The tea tree is native to New South Wales, Austrailia where it has been used for over one hundred years for its medicinal strenths which include antibacterial, antifungal, and antiseptic. The best part about this essential oil is people's ability to tolorate it, even those with allergies.

The tea tree's medicinal strengths have been known publicly since the early 1920's and used far longer by Austrailia's indigenous people to cure colds and coughs. During its first years of discovery Austrailia successfully commercialized the oil advertising its potent antiseptic and antibacterial abilities, but soon following World War II production declined due to increased popularity of antibiotics.
